The idea for Fur de Lis Pet Care began with a dog named Gumbo.
When Erica's own dog was recovering from knee surgery, she saw firsthand what his recovery truly required, and how few professional pet sitting options existed that were equipped to provide it. She had spent her career preparing for exactly this kind of moment, and she realized that pet owners across the Northshore deserved care held to that same standard, especially when leaving their pets in someone else's hands is one of the hardest parts of traveling.
Erica founded Fur de Lis Pet Care, LLC in 2025 after returning to her hometown of Mandeville. She holds a bachelor's degree in Animal Science (Pre-Veterinary Medicine) from Louisiana Tech University, spent the last decade working in the veterinary field, and most recently completed the doctor of veterinary medicine program at LSU School of Veterinary Medicine. This foundation shapes everything about how the company cares for pets.
Erica is CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certified through the RECOVER Initiative, the only CPR program endorsed by the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care and the Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society. She is also a Fear Free certified professional, committed to a calm, low-stress experience for every pet in the company's care.
Fur de Lis Pet Care was built to give pet owners total peace of mind while they are away, knowing their pets are receiving the highest standard of in-home care, delivered with complete privacy and discretion. As the company grows, Erica looks forward to building a veterinary-trained team that extends this level of care to more pet owners across the Northshore.
