Erica founded Fur de Lis Pet Care in 2025 after returning to her hometown of Mandeville, Louisiana. A graduate of Louisiana Tech University with a bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, Erica has spent the last decade working in the veterinary field. Most recently, she studied veterinary medicine at LSU School of Veterinary Medicine. The idea for Fur de Lis Pet Care was inspired while caring for her own dog, Gumbo, during recovery from knee surgery—when she realized how few pet sitting options exist that are truly trained to handle pets with medical needs as well as those recovering from surgery. While she plans to begin her career as a veterinarian soon, she’s excited to launch this business to provide reliable, compassionate, veterinary-trained care for pets across the Northshore area—and hopes to grow her team to continue offering this much-needed service.

Erica is CPR-certified through the RECOVER Initiative—the only CPR training program endorsed by the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care (ACVECC) and the Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society (VECCS). This certification is grounded in the latest veterinary research and updated guidelines, ensuring the most current and effective life-saving techniques. She is also a Fear Free trained veterinary professional, dedicated to creating a calm, low-stress experience for every pet she cares for.
